Spider Control

Have you heard the myths about spiders? One says that the average person, while sleeping, swallows an average of 8 spiders a year! Another says a person is never more than 3 feet away from a spider at all times. Or how about the one that claims that daddy long legs are one of the most poisonous spiders, but their fangs are too short to penetrate human skin? These are all completely untrue. For the most part, spiders aren’t as bad as their reputation. But that doesn’t mean we need them crawling around inside our homes. Let’s take a look at what kind of problems spider CAN cause.

Constant web removal. Since these creatures love to create lots of webs, you may find yourself in a never-ending battle to remove webs. No one likes walking into these sticky, invisible threads (and wondering if a spider got on them!)

They reproduce quickly. If you are seeing a few this month, next month it will be more. And it won’t be long before they are dropping into your dinner plate from the chandelier.

They are known to bite humans. While house spiders are not out to bite humans, they will do so if threatened. This often happens when a spider is underneath the sheets of a bed, or hiding in a shoe, or in some other place where accidental contact is made. These bites will produce an itchy red welt.

Signs of other pest problems. If you have lots of house spiders, you can be sure that you have lots of other pests living in your home and inside your wall voids. These spiders prey upon other insects. And if spiders are getting in through gaps and cracks in your outer walls, then other insects are probably getting in as well.
